Chicago hog and cattle futures rose on Monday after uneven buying and selling final week amidst evolving commerce tensions.
Most lively June stay cattle contracts gained 2.275 cents to settle at 199.075 cents a pound. August stay cattle closed at 195.825 cents a pound, up 1.975 cents.
Most lively Could feeder cattle futures settled at 280.950 cents per pound, up 2.250 cents. August feeders closed at 286.150 cents, up 2.475 cents a pound.
Selection boxed beef ended the day at $335.63, up $1.41, in keeping with the USDA’s afternoon report. Choose field beef closed at $315.85, up $1.89.
Most lively June lean hog futures gained 1.800 cents to settle at 95.125 cents a pound, whereas July lean hogs closed at 95.500 cents per pound, up 1.900 cents.
Pork carcass cutout worth ended the day at $92.78, up $0.82, the USDA reported.
