Because of the generosity of many donors, a brand new owl aviary is taking form in Maitland! Whereas we’ve got been closed to the general public, contractors had been arduous at work, and we’re excited to see the progress to date. A concrete slab was poured to create a sturdy base, and picket beams are coming collectively to resemble an aviary. Subsequent, ponds inbuilt every part will allow the owls to remain cool and hydrated all through the new Central Florida summer time. There are even lined viewing areas so friends can keep cool, too. Native vegetation and up to date signage will cap off this historic refresh. We anticipate a grand opening in February, and we can’t look ahead to the group to see the attractive new house.
Our owls sit up for transferring into their new houses across the finish of the yr, and we’re within the house stretch of elevating funds to finish the aviary. To get us over the fundraising end line, all presents by way of the tip of 2025 are being matched as much as $100,000.
