Federal government funds P.E.I. halal beef processing

The federal authorities has pledged greater than $2.2 million to increase halal beef processing on Prince Edward Island.

The $2.26 million fee will help processor Atlantic Beef Products in Albany, P.E.I. to improve it’s packaging expertise, cleansing and security tools, and to extend meat yield.

Atlantic Beef Merchandise processes about 750 cattle per week and employs round 180 individuals.

The federal authorities flagged the funding as in step with its Buy Canadian Policy, which incorporates measures to help small and medium-sized Canadian companies.
